WINE TASTING AT LINCOLN CATHEDRAL

Published 4th April 2016

At the end of March we were invited to host a wine tasting and rapeseed oil tasting at Lincoln Cathedral. The Lincoln Minster Shop is now stocking our still white and rose wine and handy 250 ml bottles of our award winning rapeseed oil.

As Holy Week and Easter are big events at the Cathedral, there were lots of visitors from all corners of the country (and some from abroad) who were keen to taste (then buy) our wine and oil.  Andrew and I had a very enjoyable day with all the visitors and staff and hope to do another tastings day in the future.

The crops are growing (despite the cold weather) and we have new life on the farm as it is calving and lambing time!  Both the pedigree Charolais cows and commercial cows look like they are about "to pop".  The little calves which have been born to date are so adorable!  I'll post a photo in next month's blog when we have got into the full swing of calving.

We have just celebrated our first wedding party at the holiday cottage on the farm, with a local bride and her bridesmaids happily settled there for the weekend.  They were blessed with a bright sunny day on 2nd April for the nuptials and the cottage and gardens did look pretty for them.

An event that is well worth visiting soon (Sunday 10th April 2016 - 10am to 4pm) is on the Lincolnshire Showground.  Called "Countryside Lincs".  A day out for all the family, and a chance to see and pat lots of farm animals, meet the farmers and taste their Lincolnshire produce, with demonstrations of making bread, cheese, sausages, ice-cream, lots of interactive events for the children - you really don't want to miss it! Check out lots more details on this event on the Lincolnshire Showground website.  We will be there with lots of information on what we do, tastings of our oil and cakes - so see you there!
