This month has seen us busier than ever, especially bookings at the holiday cottage on the farm www.fulbeckgardenscottage.com. We've also been kept very busy replenishing our stockists with our multi-award winning rapeseed oil and our new Christmas gift packs have sold really well!
If you have been reading my posts on our @Ownsworths Facebook and Twitter pages this year, you will have seen I have been in the farmhouse kitchen creating some new recipes using our oil. I am passionate about British Farming and local producers and this year have played my part in showcasing many of our Select Lincolnshire and other Lincolnshire food businesses.
I have found that the quality and taste of some of these artisan foods, is far superior to the mass produced ones - take for instance Maud Foster flour milled in Boston. It's delightful to work with, unbleached, and produces some delicious cakes and pastries all made with our rapeseed oil.
So look out for more recipes from me in 2017 and don't be frightened of emailing me if you want me to trial some recipes for you. A few weeks ago, I had a lady email me asking if you can make a gluten free hot-water crust pastry using our oil - you can!
So for the "Ownsworth's" family Christmas dinner, we're having a large turkey bought directly from local farmer Jack Battersby who lives near Lincoln; our potatoes have been grown by Sue and Pete Burgess on their farm (Burgess Farm Shop, Station Road, Waddington near Lincoln). We're also getting our veg and brussel sprout sticks from Sue who stocks vegetables which have been grown on the Lincolnshire Fens near Boston. Our pigs in blankets are coming from www.redhillfarm.co.uk near Gainsborough - so truly supporting our local farmers.

We really do appreciate you all supporting us at various events and buying our rapeseed oil. You do make a difference to the lives of a local farming family and in return we hope we demonstrate that we contribute to the local economy, environment and help educate our children and local schools.
